Hybrid is a series of furniture that uses dilapidated antiques that no one wants any more and creates something truly beautiful with them. The series helps us look at sustainable design in a different context. Whereas antique furniture would be seen as sustainable due to the level of craftsmanship it's only as sustainable as the previous owners have allowed it to be. If they haven't looked after it then it can become beyond repair how sustainable is that peace of furniture now. Whereas if a designer can take that broken unwonted piece and add new parts this allows it to become reborn and desirable again.
