Inspired by Cafetal’s Columbian farming roots, our cafe design has a tropical feel. It’s open and airy, using a mix of natural materials throughout the interior as with many of our coffee shop designs. The numerous light shades are made of rattan wicker which compliments the large wooden ceiling fans that hang from the open rafters. The pale timber tones are picked up in the louvred shutters on the windows and the slatted walls, as well as in the open structure over the counter. The herringbone flooring carries the theme through and adds to the general warmth of the coffee shop design.
The tropical feel of the interior design is enhanced by the profusion of plants everywhere. The hanging baskets in front of the counter; the ferns against the wall behind the banquette seating; and the living wall at the rear also help to define the different spaces within the open-plan coffee shop interior. Dark walls have been introduced with this in mind too, and on one of these there is a selection of black and white photos celebrating Cafetal’s long history in the coffee-growing business. Their Columbian roots come through in the brand pattern on the banquette cushions which was inspired by traditional textiles from the region. This sort of subtle environmental branding is indicative of our coffee shop designs when we work in conjunction with Crate47 on branded interiors.
